Basel Almisshal is an award-winning architect, photographer, and creative director.

Basel has taught photography and architectural design at the university level and brings expertise in both fields to his work.

As an architect and engineer, Basel approaches photography with an understanding and appreciation for detail, design intent, light and shadow, and structural intricacy of the built environment. He is committed to remaining up to speed with technical proficiency in the latest high-resolution digital technology, lighting, and post-production and editing.

Basel is the founder and lead judge of an international photography competition alongside industry masters Steve McCurry (National Geographic) and World Press Photo Judge Shahidul Alam.

Basel is an active member of the Association of Independent Architectural Photographers, the Royal Photographic Society of London, the American Society of Media Photographers, and the United Nations Photographic Council.

Basel completed his PhD research at the University of York in the UK and currently resides between New York and Philadelphia where he runs his studio. Basel is available for international and local assignments across the United States.
